Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Do I need a doctor's referral for physiotherapy?

A: You do not need a doctor's referral to access physiotherapy. Please note however that some insurance companies do require a doctor's referral in order to process your claim for reimbursement. Please check with your insurance provider for more details.

Q: Are these physiotherapy services covered by OHIP?

A: No, unfortunately our physiotherapy services are not covered by OHIP.

Q: Do you accept Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB) or Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) claims?

A: No, unfortunately we do not accept WSIB or MVA claims at this time.

Q: How do I book an appointment?

A: If you click on the BOOK NOW button in the main menu, you will be redirected to our online booking website. Please follow the instructions to set up an account. Once this is complete, you can choose an appointment time that works for you to book an initial assessment or treatment. Please note, if it has been more then six months since you have seen Shannon or Tricia Twogood, you are required to book an initial assessment. Before your first visit, you will receive an email with intake and consent forms that need to be completed online before your appointment.

Q: What should I wear/bring to my first appointment?

A: Please bring shorts and a T-shirt or tank top to all appointments. This makes the painful body part more accessible for assessment & treatment. You can also bring along any doctor's notes, test results or other medical documentation that will aid in your assessment.

Q: How many follow-up treatments will I need?

A: The short answer is, it depends. Every patient's injury is unique and many factors dictate how many visits they will require before they are ready to be discharged. After the initial assessment, we will discuss how many follow-up visits are likely needed to get you back to full function.

Q: Are there additional fees if I receive acupuncture or Gunn-IMS within a treatment?

A: There are no additional fees for acupuncture or Gunn-IMS. Please note that we cannot bill separately for these services at this time.

Q: Do you bill my insurance company directly?

A: We do not bill your insurance company directly, but you will receive a receipt at the end of your appointment that has all the information needed to submit for reimbursement if your plan covers physiotherapy.
